This pretty transport chair was one of the first pieces of hardware donated to WheelCare.Health, back in May of 2025. It was unusual—a Japanese-market, youth-sized transport chair with patterned blue upholstery, donated by an anonymous party whose child no longer needed it.

We cleaned and adjusted it, and replaced the few worn parts (rear wheels and bearings) on an otherwise lovely piece of equipment. The only problem was that it was so specialized, we didn’t have any inquiries from users for whom it was a good fit…

…until early 2026 when a family reached out looking for a transport chair for indoor use by a grandparent. They had one specific requirement: the chair had to be no more than 21″ wide, to fit through a narrow bathroom door. The good news was that the intended user was small enough that this chair—sized for a child—fit both their grandparent and that door.
