A Nextdoor visitor found our page and inquired about the Essentially New Transport Chair described in another success story as part of our Resale/Rehome efforts. Unfortunately, another family beat them to it by a day. That got us looking for a replacement.

Luckily, a fan of our work donated FOUR chairs–also connecting from Nextdoor. One of those was this transport chair, picked up on a Tuesday, refurbished by Thursday, going to a local family in need as a freebie on Friday. It got new wheel bearings to replace some that were jammed up, improvements and adjustments to the brakes, and a thorough cleaning.

Under our evolving Resale/Rehome program, a family who can afford a device can purchase it in a retail transaction. A family who can’t takes theirs home at a reduced (or no!) cost, thanks to supporters of our mission who help out with tax-deductible donations. It’s all about northern Virginia neighbors helping neighbors keep rolling.
