We see some creative “field repairs” of mobility devices but this one was extreme even as those go, encountered at a recent visit to a senior living community…
The owner reported that the leg of their rollator “fell off” while attending a grandchild’s sporting event. A volunteer at the game provided a fix, installing the drywall screw shown in the picture above, with the point aimed at the user’s leg. (We’re guessing the helpful individual was a contractor.)
Luckily we had replacement setscrews on hand, pulled from a donor rollator of the same make and model. It was an easy fix—exactly the type we can take care of at NO CHARGE at one of our introductory Roll In Workshops.
PS: WheelCare.Health does not do drywall.
