Story: How did you lose a leg?

The owner of this high-miles rollator confused one of their healthcare providers, who expressed surprise on hearing that our client had “lost a leg.” After some explanation, the provider realized that it wasn’t their patient who had lost a leg; it was their rollator.

Missing hardware resulted in the disappointing (and unsafe!) situation shown in the above picture. Luckily, WheelCare Health had the spare parts necessary to restore the wheeled appendage to its rightful place on short notice. We also adjusted brakes, applied threadlocker sealant to key bits, and replaced bearings in one wheel.

This is a great example of how donated, used devices contribute to the service of our clients’ gear. Most of the parts necessary to refresh this rollator came from breaking down contributed units too rough to restore for our Resale/Rehome program.
