Because we happen to have one of each on hand, this is a useful opportunity to compare two versions of the Pride Go Go, one of the most popular electric mobility scooter models in the United States—These are the Sport and the Elite Traveler.

The Elite Traveler (left in the picture) is substantially shorter overall, has smaller wheels, and a simpler steering stalk design than the Sport (on the right). In addition to being bigger, the Sport version has a headlight and more flexible throttle/direction controls.

Both versions break down into pieces that can be lifted into a midsize car, hatchback, or SUV; and either can use battery packs of greater or lesser capacity (and more or less cost). Both are also available in 4-wheel versions, choice between those and the 3-wheelers pictured being user personal preference…

…but ultimately, choosing between the two trim levels is about deciding between the Elite’s tighter turning circle (more flexible indoors), and the Sport’s greater stability over irregular surfaces (better outdoors).
