At a February 2026 WheelCare.Health Roll In Workshop, we serviced the rollator of a resident who shared that she put in a lot of miles with her wheels. Turns out, not only was she president of the community walking club, she was the ENTIRE community walking club, legendary among the staff and other residents as always being out doing laps around the grounds.
Her complaint—among other issues—was that her brakes weren’t working. Inspection showed that the rear wheels of her rollator were worn small enough that the brakes no longer contacted them when she pulled the levers. The picture above shows one of her wheels (in front), compared to a nearly new version of the same part behind it. We patched it with some used wheels but the entire device was pretty worn out.
The picture below shows the rollator that’s attached to that newer wheel in the first pic; a device we’ve earmarked to potentially replace her current one when we go back to that community. It came to us as part of a large donation from local supporters White Glove Solution, a relocation and home-transition company dedicated to supporting seniors and their families through life’s major changes. Cleaned up, tuned up, and ready for the walking club.
