Pair of aluminum 2-wheel walkers

Story: Life is too short…

…to live with a worn out walker.

At a recent introductory Roll In Workshop, a senior community resident asked if we could fix her very basic, 2-wheel, aluminum walker. The wheels were rattling and play in the folding pivots made the entire frame wobbly.

I suggested we could just give her a new one from our stock of donated devices. We often get nearly unused—even literally new—examples of this device, commonly given to patients as they are leaving care whether they are going to use them or not.

Her response? “I’ll have to ask my friend. She just lets me use this one.”

So, two seniors are splitting time on one worn out walker that was likely free when new and we can’t sell through our Resale/Rehome program for a dollar?

They’re getting two from us for nothing.
